The registration deadline for the upcoming General Election is October 13, 2020. Be sure to re-register if you move, if you change your name, or if you have finished a sentence of incarceration. Remember - people on parole or probation can register to vote! Not sure if your registration is up to date? Check your registration status to make sure it is active and your information is correct.
The League of Women Voters is a proud partner with Project 555: Youth Voter Engagement. They are a student-led, nonpartisan, virtual voter registration and education project focusing on High School seniors. The goal of this initiative is to reach out to every public high school (509 in total) and 46 of the largest private high schools in New Jersey before the October 13th voter registration deadline and maintain contact with these students through the November election via social media, phone calls and a number of other digital platforms. While the League encourages everyone to vote-by-mail if they can, voters still have the option to vote in person. Each municipality will be required to open at least one polling place. All counties must ensure that at least 50% of their total polling places are open. Any voter who chooses to cast their vote in-person at their polling place will do so using a provisional ballot. Individuals with disabilities will have access to an ADA-conforming voting machine. Polling places will be open from 6 am to 8 pm.
