Using the NEW JERSEY SOCIAL STUDIES CURRICULUM FRAMEWORK [PDF], Summer 1999

New Jersey's Core Curriculum Content Standards for Social Studies emphasize that "Citizen participation in government is essential in forming this nation's democracy, and is vital in sustaining it."

Technology is an integral part of today's information-based society and can help stimulate intellectual curiosity and growth in our classrooms. The Internet is rapidly becoming a new source for information in the history classroom and as such can be used to enhance the educational experience of students as well as to stimulate interactive class activities using email.
